2017 Porsche Macan Blue

You should tread lightly when you’re evolving the Porsche Macan — after all, this is Porsche’s most popular model, with 19,332 sold nationwide during 2016 alone. We’ll admit to a touch of trepidation, but the latest 2019 Porsche Macan spy shots indicate that what is coming early next year will be a vehicle well worth the wait.

The latest Porsche Macan spy shots have demonstrated just what we can expect when the next model starts gracing the roads of Frankford, Crown Point, and Orland Park.

Black Sport Classic five-spoke alloy wheels with GTS red-painted brake calipers were spoted, and the body suggests new bumpers and revised daytime running lights. Exhaust tips bear a strong resemblance to those fitted with Turbo and Turbo with Performance Package models, and the rear lights seem to take inspiration from the latest Porsche Panamera.

The interior of each new Macan has always been a place of serene comfort and home to the latest features and fittings, and the upcoming 2019 line appears to follow in that enviable tradition.

Motor Authority notes that the interior showcases a new infotainment display with fresh control unit installed just beneath — again, the influence of the new Porsche Panamera is hard to ignore. Cabin accents also appear to have been touched up a little, too, so expect a more refined sense of luxury than ever.

We’ve considered on the body and peered within the cabin, but what will be under the hood of the 2019 Porsche Macan remains shrouded in secrecy.

But even secrets aren’t immune to speculation, and we can make some fairly educated guesses when it comes to the 2019 Macan. It seems likely that the current 3.0L and 3.6L turbocharged engines will be replaced by more efficient upgrades, but we’re still not expecting a diesel model to make it to American shores. That said, a plug-in hybrid could be a distinct possibility.
